UZH Account

You need a login to use many of the IT services offered by UZH. This login authenticates you as a member of the University.

Process

Before you start work, the Information Technology office will create a UZH or ITIM (identity management) account for you. You can use this to manage all of your UZH-related accounts and passwords in the future.

As a newly appointed UZH professor, before you take up your position you will normally receive a letter from UZH, sent to your private address, which contains your
- full name for UZH purposes,
- UZH short name (e.g. fmuste in the case of Felix Muster),
- an initial password,
- and a UZH e-mail address (typically firstname.surname@uzh.ch).
Enclosed with this letter are instructions on setting your password for the first time within the identity management system.
